Funding Requests

Special Note to the staff of City of Struthers Schools:

Please submit funding requests for this school year as soon as possible.  The cutoff date for funding in the 2019-2020 school year is November 14.

Guidelines/criteria for funding requests

Purpose statement
The Struthers School Foundation for Educational Excellence purpose is to provide financial support for the implementation of sustainable, long-term educational programs that provide the students of the Struthers City Schools with enhanced educational opportunities not available from local, state or federal programs or resources.
Criteria for funding.
Proposals for Foundation funding shall include;
  1. A description of the program, beneficiaries, and how it will enhance educational opportunities beyond the existing school curriculum or available resources. Proposal should document need beyond Board of Education responsibility/resources.
  2. Identify who will be responsible for implementation of the program and how the program will be implemented. (The who will do what and when). Is appropriate staff available?
  3. Sustainability. What assurances can be made that the program will continue into the future?
  4. Address any special training needs (in-service, etc.) the proposed program will require and how they will be met.
  5. Performance objectives should be included to measure the success of the program in reaching its stated objectives.
  6. Provide a budget that identifies all proposed costs for implementation and continuation of the program.
  7. Proposals shall be signed-off on by the appropriate building administrator.
Prohibited uses of funds.
  1. Foundation funds cannot be used to supplement, or offset, salary costs, of teachers, administrators or other school staff of the Struthers City School System.
  2. Foundation funds cannot be used to purchase routine educational supplies normally provided by the school system for instructional purposes.
Program proposals that offer the greatest impact on enhancing student educational opportunities and can be affordably sustained will receive priority consideration. Programs heavily dependent upon expendable materials should be avoided.
The Foundation Board will individually review all proposals and funding will be at the discretion of the Foundation Board.
